National Science & Technology Week

ONLINE REGISTRATION as of September 11th, 2009
http://science.gc.ca/default.asp?lang=en&n=09CCB27B-1

We are happy to announce that the 2009 NSTW will take place from October 16 to 25, 2009. This year’s theme is "Exploration and Discovery: Past, Present and Future."
National Science and Technology Week is an exciting environment where people of all ages — and children and young adults in particular — can engage in science and technology and interact with science professionals.
Our National Champion this year, Canadian astronaut Dr. Robert Thirsk, a crew-member of Expedition 20/21 that launched in May, will promote and launch NSTW from the space station.
As in previous years, we offer free presentations to school groups at various Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) venues in the National Capital Region. Experts will give presentations every hour, on the hour, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday, October 19 through October 23.
Register now for your NSTW 2009 participation. More information, including a list of presentations and the schedule, and is online at the above web link. Keep in mind that space is limited!
We are also inviting you to come out to the annual Science FunFest, which will be held on Sunday, October 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the grounds of NRCan’s Booth Street complex (corner of Booth and Carling). The FunFest event is free and open to the public, with plenty of learning and hands-on experiments by Canada’s science-based departments and agencies, and non-government organizations. Last year’s event attracted more than 3,000 parents and children.
We encourage you to celebrate National Science and Technology Week this year at your school, and we look forward to your participation in the Week!

Thank you!
